I am a software engineer supporting the Digital Service at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services where I’m involved in launching and growing the first Open Source Program Office in the federal government. My work is focused on building tools and establishing best practices that assess and promote repository health across CMS’ open source ecosystem. My proudest accomplishments include:
- Crafting the code.json metadata standard as part of the agency's implementation of the SHARE IT Act
- Serving as a primary maintainer of repo-scaffolder, making it easy for teams to stand up federal open source repositories
- Speaking at conferences sharing stories about building federal open source technology (See: external.md)
- Getting my start in public service as a technologist through the US Digital Corps Fellowship
Currently, I am developing tooling and resources centered around the automation of archiving repositories when they reach the end of life stage. I've been experimenting a ton with GitHub Actions and even shipped some actions to the GitHub Action Marketplace! Archiving repositories is a shared challenge among organizations that develop software, so my hope is that these tools can be used not just within the agency, but by the broader developer community.

As someone who is early in their career, I have so much to learn about open source software, healthcare, and government. If you are in these spaces, I would love to connect! Please feel free to reach out anytime 😊
