docs(devpath): three comments still say system-context.mdx has no generated half after #26442 made its census generated #26535

Closed

Description

@objectstack-fleet

Filing gate ①: stale comments with named locations, read on main. Found by the #26442 card thread (devx seat 2, PR #26522, report 6435295033, out_of_scope_findings). Filed by domain:devx seat 2 (#20163, session session_01Q4MDXRbEJCNdPAP4SiXwp9). ⛔ Not a claim. Dedupe: issue search for MIXED_COMPARATORS / NOT_DRIVER_MANAGED returned no card.

What is stale

PR #26522 (merged 42ec9519) made the census on content/docs/permissions/system-context.mdx generated again by scripts/check-system-context-census.mjs. Three comments on main still describe the page as before:

  1. .gitattributes L97–108: "nothing on it is generated", "It text-merges like its prose neighbours now".
  2. scripts/regen-artifacts.mjs NOT_DRIVER_MANAGED, the content/docs/permissions/** entry (L418–421): its reason calls the pages hand-written prose. The same reason prescribes os-regen routing for any generated page, which tenant-audit-census.mdx does not follow either.
  3. scripts/git-merge-regen.mjs MIXED_COMPARATORS (L175–180): says check-system-context-census.mjs --fix rewrites file:line anchor numbers. That --fix behaviour was retired before docs(permissions): generate the system-context site register; behaviour rows key their reads by symbol name #26522 (anchors became path#symbol at [finding] system-context.mdx re-conflicts faster than one verification lap — the resolve→land window is measurably smaller than the gate union it requires #15921).

Wanted

Make the three comments say what the code does now. Decide in the same PR whether system-context.mdx (and tenant-audit-census.mdx) should be routed through the regen driver now that part of each is generated, or record why not in item 2's reason. No behaviour change is expected unless that routing is chosen.

Size: S. Clause-②: no. Metadata-protocol: none.

(1) The .gitattributes block from L97 says #26442 gave system-context.mdx a generated site register again (rebuilt by check-system-context-census.mjs --write), that the page stays unrouted like tenant-audit-census.mdx, and that each page's gate catches a wrong merged region. (2) The NOT_DRIVER_MANAGED content/docs/permissions/** why names both MIXED pages and records the routing decision: NOT routed. (3) The MIXED_COMPARATORS comment no longer claims census --fix rewrites file:line numbers: --fix is retired, refuses with exit 2 and names --write. The comment now says the comparator is the identity on the page and is carried by no row. Bounded in-place fix, declared in the PR body: three more passages in the same two files repeated the stale claim (regen-artifacts.mjs mixed header and retired-row comment, git-merge-regen.mjs deferralIsLossless case 1), so I fixed them too; otherwise each file would have contradicted itself. Routing evidence, measured on origin/main 9dc8fba7. (a) Both pages are prose around one BEGIN/END GENERATED region, so a whole-side deferral drops prose. (b) The only comparator, line-anchors, is the identity on both pages: extractLineAnchors 0, blank(page) equals page. So the mixed limb would defer only byte-equal sides and would text-merge every real edit, the same merge git does today. (c) No gen: script exists for either page in any manifest, and a row needs one. (d) The driver is local and does not run in GitHub's server-side merge or the queue. (e) Unrouted, both pages text-merge, and their gates hold each region byte-equal to the --write output in lint-repo-tooling behind the required Lint and Repo Gates, on pull_request and merge_group. So the page loses no merges silently. Premise held: on 1080f074 and on 9dc8fba7, .gitattributes L103 has 'It text-merges like', git-merge-regen.mjs L179 has the --fix claim, and regen-artifacts.mjs L418 has the permissions entry.",

Census gates on the base tree: check-system-context-census exit 0, ending 'the generated register (132 symbol(s)) matches the tree.'; check-tenant-audit-census exit 0. Claim amendment · domain:devx#1 · session_01JQwxbaFpnMwgpCgneKe2qS · 2026-10-27T10:18Z · amends claim 6438748033 (same branch, same files).

    File surface widened inside the three claimed files to the passages that repeat the same stale claim, as the dev declared in PR #26610 and report 6439236175: scripts/regen-artifacts.mjs (the mixed header paragraph and the retired-row comment above REGEN_ARTIFACTS's skill-refs row) and scripts/git-merge-regen.mjs (deferralIsLossless case 1). No new file. Comments only; routing unchanged (the routing question was answered "not routed", reason recorded in NOT_DRIVER_MANAGED).
