About

I'm a self-taught fullstack developer and I've been coding since 2022. Most of what I build revolves around Minecraft Bedrock: running servers, writing Endstone plugins, and building the engine underneath them.

I picked up Python while writing plugins, learned Linux because I needed to keep my servers online, and got into networking after trying to work out why a packet was taking the route it was. I'd rather understand a system properly than treat any part of it as a black box, so I usually end up writing my own tools instead of reaching for something off the shelf.

I got an A* in Computing at A level and I'm now studying Computer Science at university. I'm open to freelance work and full-time roles.

CrabSMP

CrabSMP is a Minecraft Bedrock server I built and run from start to finish. It runs on Endstone and is backed by Crab Engine, an engine I write and maintain myself. It covers the in-game systems, economy, ranks, generated UI, and the Discord integration behind it.

Performance is the part I enjoy most. Bedrock gives you one main tick thread and nowhere to hide, so profiling matters a lot. Recently I traced a CPU bottleneck back to the tick counter itself and reduced how often the engine touched it. Everything on the server competes for the same 20 ticks a second, so every saved cycle counts.

What I'm building

Crab Engine My custom Bedrock engine. I'm currently working on cutting its CPU cost in the tick loop.
Endstone plugins Gameplay commands, rank systems and generated in-game UI.
Infrastructure Caddy with layer 4 routing, post-quantum TLS and Cloudflare DNS.
Data Player, economy and rank schemas across MongoDB and MySQL.

Projects

Here are some of the repositories I've published on GitHub. Most of them grew out of problems I ran into while running my own servers.

UtilityStone An essentials mod for MCBE-Endstone servers, loosely modelled on Paoo's Minecraft Essentials.
Chunkize My take on Chunky, built for MCBE-Endstone servers.
TransferX Dynamically invites players from a Realm to a relay server, using BedrockX and nethernet.
Genesis A lightweight anticheat built for Realms, designed to stay reliable under load.
BeRP-rewrite My rewrite of BeRP, a RakNet implementation for Bedrock Realms.
CRAB-ENGINE The multi-purpose addon I built for CrabSMP to make the server more enjoyable for players.
pingpong A two-player ping pong game in Python using pygame, with paddle controls, ball physics and score tracking.

Stack

Hardware

I run my servers on Ubuntu and Debian and use Linux Mint on my own desktop. Most of my days are spent managing services, sorting out permissions and working over SSH. I've also built my own machines from parts, so I'm comfortable working at the physical layer as well as in software.
