Most systems fail not because the core idea was wrong, but because of the edges — inconsistent data, race conditions, unclear ownership, invisible failure modes. I spend a lot of time on those edges.
Good architecture should be explainable. If you can't sketch it on a whiteboard in five minutes, it's probably more complex than it needs to be.
