Commons HttpClient is EOL, is reported to have security issues, and clutters up projects that have otherwise moved on to HttpComponents.
Passes unit tests. Independent testing and advice on how to further test would be appreciated.
This also tidies up a few warnings from my IDE and normalizes a lot of whitespace distractions.
