This repository primarily contains a list of vocabulary from the New Horizons English textbooks from Tokyo Shoseki. It has been updated for the 2025 textbook revision.
Previously, other word lists were placed in different repositories, which made it difficult to update and access. Now all of these other words lists have been placed in the Supplemental folder. These lists include words from:
- Oxford and Longman dictionary vocabulary lists (from Jnoodle's Word List).
- Google Search Word List (from First20Hours's Word List) [Be aware that the Google Search Word List contains spelling errors].
- Words in English originating from Japanese (From Wikipedia under a CC-BY-SA 4.0 license, also found here).
- Next Generation Service List 1.2 (from NGSL Project) [They also have some good games and activities for learners].
Most of the words have also been combined into the Common List. Also, some of the lists may not be as modern as they could be.
