@hswick interesting! Could you talk about the motivation for rewriting a new wrapper? is the current implementation insufficient in any manner?

@shark8me my motivation was that this project didn't look like it was being maintained so rather than learning how this library worked. I felt it would be easier for me to build from scratch. Mainly, I wanted more creative control. Also, my lib(s) are focusing on being more modular, as I have a separate library for nd4j and the word2vec stuff as opposed to packaging it all together in one large code base. If you want to talk more, feel free to DM me on Slack or Discord. Same username.

@joachimdb I have been working on an update to your original work for a while now but it's still a work in progress. I hope to have a version ready for a PR soon, just finalizing some things here and there. Was staying under the radar until that version was ready but feel to take a look and tell me what you think!

@FeLungs you have definitely put in a lot of work into this. I will be attending the Conj so hopefully we can chat about this in person.
Will probably steal how you are dealing with dataset iterators because I find them to almost be more complex than the neural nets.
I like that your library is very explicit. However, at a very surface level glance, I can't help but feel it doesn't decrease the complexity of using dl4j very much. Which I feel is most of the benefit of a clojure wrapper. Tough problem, something I am struggling with myself. All about balancing simple vs easy. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

@hswick wonderful I will see you there, I will be presenting on this work on the 14th (may have the date wrong). I'm still working on my slides and talking points so additional feedback is highly appreciated. dl4j is a very complex library handling a very complex problem and I don't think you can simply that, only make it easier to work with using clojure constructs.

@FeLungs looks quite impressive what you did so far! Unfortunately, I currently can't spare the time, but I hope to find some time in the future to actually play around a bit and maybe start contributing again.

In the mean time: would you like me to figure out how we can regain admin rights to the master repo (I'm not currently working at Engagor anymore) or maybe move things to a new repo?

Maybe because you have a fork of the repo on that organization? The support article mentions that can't be the case either ...
