Hi there 👋

I am Yuqing Chen (she/her). My first name can be pronounced as "yu-ch'ing". Friends also call me Iris.

I'm currently a Conservation Genetics PhD candidate at the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment, Cornell University.

  • 🧬 I’m interested in biological inquiries addressed through computational genomics.
  • 👩🏻‍💻 My toolkit includes population genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, statistics learning, simulations, and data science.
  • 🦪 Currently, I study eco-evolutionary processes in eastern oysters and a bit of surfclams.
  • 🌊 I apply my research to marine conservation and restoration.

Research interests: admixture & introgression, adaptation, inbreeding, genetic load, domestication
