First Workout
Use this path when you want to confirm the app can connect and complete a simple session.
- Power on the Vitruvian machine.
- Open Project Phoenix.
- Grant Bluetooth permissions when prompted.
- Start from the Workout tab and let the app scan/connect.
- If the trainer does not appear, move closer, confirm Bluetooth is on, and power cycle the trainer.
Android 11 and older also need Location enabled for BLE scanning. This is an Android BLE requirement.
The Launch Pad gives you the main user-facing paths:
- Just Lift: quick sets with minimal setup.
- Single Exercise: pick one exercise, configure the mode, weight, reps, and optional replay from recent activity.
- Routines: run a saved routine exercise by exercise.
- Training Cycles: start the routine assigned to the current day of an active cycle.
- Assess 1RM: run the VBT-based 1RM assessment flow when the trainer is connected.
For a first test, use Just Lift or Single Exercise with a conservative weight.
- Tap Just Lift.
- Choose a mode and weight.
- Grab the handles and begin when ready.
- Complete a set and review the set summary.
- Tag the exercise after the set if you want the workout to count toward exercise history and PR tracking.
Just Lift is good for quick testing because it does not require a saved routine.
- Tap Single Exercise.
- Pick an exercise.
- Configure weight, reps, mode, Echo level or eccentric load if applicable.
- Start the set and follow the countdown or motion-start behavior configured in Settings.
- Review the set summary.
Recent Activity links can reopen a previous exercise into Single Exercise so you can repeat work without searching the library again.
Routines may start from an overview screen or auto-start depending on Settings. If Auto-Start Routine is enabled, the app can skip the overview and move directly into the first set when the trainer is connected.
Warmups, rest timers, and per-set behavior are controlled by the routine configuration. v0.9.1 includes fixes for routine auto-start and warmup load handling.
- Start light until you know the machine is responding correctly.
- Keep the cable path clear before the countdown ends.
- Watch for unexpected resistance, missing audio cues, or connection drops.
- Use Diagnostics-and-Troubleshooting if the machine reports faults or the app disconnects.
