fix(shiki): avoid exponential backtracking in component attributes - #523
Open a diagram on the canvas, then press W or click play to walk through the change one step at a time
🪧 More tips
Run npx skills add coldteadotai/pr-lens, then tell your coding agent: "Diagram the change you just made with PR Lens and attach it to the pull request."
Run npx @coldtea/pr-lens-cli analyze --base origin/main on a branch, then npx @coldtea/pr-lens-cli render .pr-lens/graph.json. Same lenses, your own model key, before the pull request exists
Click the link under each diagram to open it on a canvas you can zoom, pan and step through
The diagrams are links. Click one to open it on the canvas, then press W or click play to walk through the change
The CLI's render reads .github/pr-lens.yml and applies your renames, exclusions and lane pins at draw time
Set github.comment.collapsed: true in .github/pr-lens.yml to fold the comment behind one View architecture… row. Drawing still runs as before
Set github.draw: on-demand in .github/pr-lens.yml and PR Lens stops drawing pull requests on its own. Comment @pr-lens draw on a pull request when you want that one drawn
Add .github/workflows/pr-lens.yml with coldteadotai/pr-lens/packages/action@v0 and your model provider's key as its api-key to run PR Lens from your own CI. Any /chat/completions endpoint works
After a push, tick Redraw to draw the latest commit
Switch GitHub to dark mode and the diagrams follow. The moving dots are this pull request's data in motion
Set github.description: false in .github/pr-lens.yml to stop PR Lens adding buttons to your PR descriptions

The Comark Shiki grammar now accepts empty unquoted attribute bodies in attribute and component patterns. New tests check highlighting for punctuation and incomplete inputs. The documentation describes supported inline and block component attributes, including braces inside quoted values.
Changes: Shiki attribute grammar

Summary
Attribute patterns and coverage packages/comark/src/plugins/shiki/language-comark.ts, packages/comark/test/plugins/shiki-language.test.ts, docs/content/4.plugins/1.built-in/shiki.md
The attribute and component patterns now allow empty unquoted bodies. Tests check token reconstruction and selected attribute-name and tag-name scopes. Documentation describes support for inline and block component attributes, including braces inside quoted values.
The highlighting change has no established merge-blocking risk. The quoted-brace test could better verify token boundaries.

Add explicit types to the test callbacks.
The exit, test, mapping, and scope-check callbacks omit parameter or return types. Add those types to follow the repository convention. As per coding guidelines, “Use explicit types for function parameters and return values.”

52:
In the Shiki language test, add explicit parameter and return types to the exit,
test, mapping, scope-check, and setTimeout callbacks identified in the diff,
following the repository’s existing type conventions without changing their
behavior.
Add a closing-brace boundary check for the quoted-brace fixtures.
The shiki-language test uses three quoted-brace samples (indexes 5 to 7), but its assertions cannot detect a change in where the attribute ends. The reconstruction check compares only the concatenated token text to the input. The scope check uses toContain and some over every token on each line, so one matching scope anywhere on the line passes. A regression that ends the attribute at the } inside "a}b" would keep title tagged as entity.other.attribute-name.html and keep badge tagged as entity.name.tag.component, so this test would still pass. Add an assertion that the component's closing } carries punctuation.definition.tag.end.component and sits after the quoted value and before next.

Update the quoted-brace assertions in the “highlights attributes without
backtracking on punctuation or incomplete input” test to inspect samples 5–7 at
the token level. Verify the component’s closing brace has the
punctuation.definition.tag.end.component scope and appears after the quoted
value and before “ next”.

Component attributes followed by punctuation can hang Shiki's JavaScript engine and stall docs builds.
Remove nested repetition from four attribute patterns to prevent exponential backtracking.
