Tip SHA: 472d111

Fixes #904

A guest's copy of a linked room now lists the host's Bots and shows the room's group notice. Before, it listed only the guest's own Bots: the join record treated "my Bot" and "the Bot that carried the join" as alternatives, the join carried no roster, and it carried no notice either, so no host Bot could appear and the guest's group settings were empty (the report: members = 2, You + the seat Bot, and an empty notice).

Reproduce

Rebased onto 79aa6128 (the tree that carries #909). On pristine 79aa6128, with only the tests kept: core/test/remote-room.test.js #904 — a join with localBotId and an inviter records no remote participant at all; a join carrying a 3-Bot roster records one participant; the membership notice has no roster field. #884's own fixture pins the symptom in core/test/room-ticket-seat.test.js: a guest mirror of a two-Bot claim lists ['chief-b', 'helper-b'] and no host Bot. The join's notice is absent, so a guest's room record has none.
Ran: cd core && node --import ./test/harness-resolve.mjs --test --test-concurrency=1 test/remote-room.test.js test/room-ticket-seat.test.js on pristine 79aa6128 → 5 fail / 67 pass.

What changed

Rebased onto 79aa6128: #909/#910 landed inboundOf and verifiedAuthor on the same file. The transport-only gate, the not-inviter/unknown-room refusals and the author rule are main's, reused as they are — this branch adds no second gate and no payload fallback. The one addition inside verifiedAuthor is that a remote seat stands for a handle only when it is verified and belongs to the transport's home: #904's roster itself creates remote entries, and a home-less match would let two homes' same-named Bots stand in for each other.

  • core/src/host/room-membership.js
    • recordInboundSharedRoom keeps the guest's own Bot and records the Bot that carried the join (draft.inviterHandle) as a remote participant (admittedBy: 'ticket', roomOnly, verified). A handle this home owns is never recorded as remote — invitedHandle names the guest's own Bot on this side, so when this home brought a Bot that branch is skipped instead of listing the same Bot twice. The count is then exactly three: You, your own Bot, the host seat; admin stays localBotId, so the host seat never takes the badge. Nothing here writes into room.members: syncMembers still keeps only local Bots, because members is what speaks, leads and renders — putting a remote handle there would be a permission leak, not visibility. Asserted in both cases.
    • roomRoster(room): every Bot of this home in the room, { handle, name, ownerName }, and { name, connected: false } for one with no Bot Social identity. Another guest's Bot is not published.
    • notifyRoomShare sends that roster and the room's group notice (room.notice) on the join notice (neither on leave).
    • noticeOf reads an incoming notice only on join, only for the room this mirror is bound to and only from that room's own inviter, clipped to the editor's 2000 characters. A present field is applied even when empty — that is the host clearing its notice — while an absent field means "change nothing", so an older host cannot wipe a guest's notice. recordInboundSharedRoom keeps it on the room record.
    • A local add or remove re-sends the roster: addRoomParticipant/removeRoomParticipant call reshareRoster for this home's own Bots (the remote-only paths never did), so the guest list follows the host. A local Bot has no handle, so the two-Bot guard now counts by id (comparing handles alone dropped every local Bot from the count and made a local removal always trip it).
    • A roster explicitly sent empty clears the host's Bots from the mirror (the seat, the guest's own Bot and the person stay); an absent field still changes nothing.
    • A roster drop is a soft leave, not a deletion: the entry keeps its record with leftSeq (so history and localCalls still resolve it), a Bot the host puts back clears its leftSeq on the same entry, and a redelivered join adds no second entry. A join with no roster field at all is a no-op, never "empty the list" — an older host or a peer that drops the field cannot make the guest fall back to one Bot.
    • The roster, the notice and the author claim read event.fromHandle/event.fromHome directly (main's verifiedAuthor is the author rule; these functions add no gate of their own), so — no payload fallback, no wrapper of their own, so there is exactly one rule for which sender is trusted: the transport's. The envelope's inviterHome/inviterHandle stay in sharedFrom for display only (how the parsed values are computed is Inbound room-share envelopes let the payload decide the inviter and the author, not the transport #909's line).
    • Identity is (home, handle), and the home is the transport's (event.fromHome), never the envelope's: a handle is unique only inside its home, so two same-named Bots must not stand in for each other. Roster entries carry home, participants are keyed and matched on it, and an authorId claim has to match a verified participant of the transport's home or it falls back. The envelope's inviter fields are display only; the roster, the notice and the author claim are all read against the transport.
    • rosterOf accepts a roster only when it names this mirror's room (data.roomId = sharedFrom.remoteRoomId) and comes from its bound inviter (inviterHome + inviterHandle); otherwise the envelope is dropped whole. applyRoster records one fromRoster remote per entry, verified only for the seat or a published friend Bot, and marks as left any entry a later (whole) roster drops.
    • A line is attributed to data.authorId only when that names a verified participant; otherwise it is said by the Bot that carried the line and marked unverified: true. A handle claim is always a Bot's line: saying authorKind: 'human' in the envelope does not turn a Bot handle into a person, and an invented or unverified handle never speaks under its own name. A person's line from that home (a non-handle id) is kept as it was (The receiving side names a shared room after the Bot that transmitted the share, not the person who invited #873).
    • ingestSeatShare (the host reading a seat's line) is unchanged: ownSeatOf matches the seat by the transport's fromHandle, so seat.handle already is the Bot that wrote the line, and the envelope's authorId is never read on that path. On measurement (ownSeatOf:1561 returns undefined for an inbound-share room) a guest mirror never takes this path at all; the case that pins it is a guard against the reverse "fix" of trusting the claim, which would let a guest speak as any Bot of this home.
  • core/src/shared/room-share.js: the existing envelope carries roster on join (capped at 32, names/handles clipped) and notice (capped at 2000).
  • core/src/client/group-settings.js + i18n.js: in a projected room a roster Bot this home cannot confirm reads Unconfirmed, one with no identity reads Not connected, and the remove × is not offered there (the host changes its own membership).
  • Tests: core/test/remote-room.test.js (+267, five cases incl. the notice, the author-claim gate, negative controls and the host-side notice, and the seat-attribution guard), core/test/room-ticket-seat.test.js (the assertAddable refuses a remote Bot that a verified ticket admitted, so the invited stranger is seated nowhere #884 fixture now expects the host Bot it used to leave out).
  • Docs: docs/subsystems/core-host.md, docs/subsystems/core-client.md. Changelog: changelog.d/904-guest-sees-host-bots.fixed.md. Regenerated patches/ds-bot/ (generate + check).

Author-attribution matrix (guest side)

The claim in the envelope is never an author. unverified is a display marker only — nothing in the code reads it back as permission.

claim in the envelope attributed to authorKind marker
none the sending Bot (event.fromHandle) as claimed, but a missing author is the Bot's line —
the sending Bot's own handle that Bot bot —
a handle of a verified roster entry, home = transport home that Bot bot —
an unverified / invented / other-home handle the sending Bot bot (a handle is never a person's line) unverified: true
a person's id (non-handle) that person human —

What I ran (all at tip 472d11142aa1ddd771b561dd41afea2ae6132ca7)

  • cd core && node --import ./test/harness-resolve.mjs --test --test-concurrency=1 test/remote-room.test.js test/room-ticket-seat.test.js → 72/72
  • cd plugins/social && node --import ./test/resolve.mjs --test "test/*.test.js" → 402/402
  • node core/scripts/check-arch-docs.mjs → arch-docs: OK (17 changed file(s))
  • node scripts/ds-bot-patches.mjs generate / check → 10 patches apply cleanly; core/ equals ds-bot/ + patches
  • node scripts/build-client.mjs --check → ok; npx oxlint src test → 0 errors; node .github/scripts/changelog.mjs check → 44 fragments well formed
  • node scripts/lint-plugins.mjs → ok

Red without the source change

Reverting only the source files (tests kept) leaves the room pair at 5 fail / 67 pass on pristine 79aa6128: #904 join keeps the host seat, roster lists every host Bot, a foreign/other-room roster changes nothing, the membership notice, and #884's fixture (host Bot missing). These are the defect cases — they red because the source change is absent. #909's three cases are green there on purpose: they guard the transport rule this branch reuses, not #904's defect.
The seat-attribution guard is also green on pristine main: by construction the base already ignores the claim there, and the case exists so a later "fix" cannot start trusting it. It is a guardrail, not defect evidence.

Not run

Risk

  • The group notice is stranger-written text too: it is gated like the roster (bound room + bound inviter), displayed only, and can never carry authority. It is not encrypted beyond the transport's own, so a guest's owner can read what the host wrote — the same exposure as any room line.
  • A roster is stranger-written text; the gate is the room's own binding, and every entry these tests cover is display-only (roomOnly, never published, no send path). The one attribution fallback is deliberate: an unknown authorId is shown as the inviter, never as an invented Bot.
  • #884's existing fixture changed (one participant added); that is the fixed behaviour, not a regression the test was protecting.
  • Records written before this fix keep their participants; they gain the roster on the host's next membership notice.

Tip moved to 19e1d83f (before any verdict, so nothing is voided): attribution now requires a verified participant, not merely a known one. A line whose authorId names a roster entry this home has not verified is said by the inviter, so a guest can no longer be shown a host Bot speaking unless this home holds its own fact about that handle (the seat, or a published friend Bot). Test added for exactly that case (@ghost.alice.home, in the roster, unverified → authorId = inviter), and the verified case uses a published friend Bot.

Everything else is unchanged; local rerun after the change: core 1337/1337, room suites 68/68, arch-docs OK, patches check OK. Red on the base tree stays 3 fail / 1 pass (#904).

Step 3 is in at 05deeb47 (same PR, same tip; still before any verdict). ingestSeatShare kept seat.handle for every Bot line; it now keeps data.authorId only when that names another current ticket seat of the same home in this room (same ticket, ownerHome equal), and otherwise falls back to the seat.

Test added: two seats of one home, a line claiming the sibling seat keeps it; a line claiming a Bot of this home falls back to the seat (@writer.a.home → @chief.bob.home). On the base tree that test fails on exactly that expectation, so the case is pinned rather than assumed.

Local at 05deeb47: core 1338/1338, room suites 69/69, social 402/402, arch-docs OK, patches check OK, client --check untouched (no client change in step 3).

Verdict: INC at 05deeb4

Ran:

  • cd core && DSH_HARNESS=… node --import ./test/harness-resolve.mjs --test --test-name-pattern="#904" test/remote-room.test.js → 5/5; full core suite serial → 1337/1338, the one failure being the known environment red empty diff passes (check-arch-docs needs git).
  • knife: delete the applyRoster(room, …) line at :2052 → 4/5, only #904: a join roster lists every host Bot… red. So the roster tests do have teeth.
  • probe 1 (spoofed sender): a join roster with inviterHome: '@alice.home', inviterHandle: '@chief.alice.home' but delivered with fromHome: '@mallory.home', fromHandle: '@mallory.bot.home' → the mirror grows from 4 to 5 participants and lists @mallory.bot.home.
  • probe 2 (host-side removal): a room holding a guest mirror, then rt.removeRoomParticipant(room.id, { kind: 'bot', id: 'spec-a' }, …) → 0 envelopes sent (sent.length === 0).
  • encodeRoomShare({ op: 'join', …, roster: [] }) → parseRoomShare(...).roster === undefined.

What passed: the seat entry now sits beside the guest's own Bot (admittedBy: 'ticket', roomOnly), the roster lists this home's Bots with ownerName and { name, connected: false } for one with no identity, another home's Bot is not published, the roster from another roomId changes nothing, entries dropped by a later roster go soft-left (leftSeq) and history still renders, syncMembers' !p.remote filter is untouched, and the client labels read Unconfirmed/Not connected. Attribution now demands a verified participant. patches/ds-bot/ is regenerated and package is green.

Three things block it, all reproducible at this tip:

  1. The roster gate trusts the envelope's claim, not the transport sender. rosterOf is called at :2052 with fromHandle/fromHome from :1940-1941, which are data.inviterHandle || event.fromHandle and data.inviterHome || event.fromHome — payload first. So the "sender is the bound inviter" test compares the claim to the claim; probe 1 above injects @mallory.bot.home into the guest's mirror. The same payload-first handle is used for the author binding at :2063 (claimed === fromHandle), so a line can name its own inviter handle and then speak as it. Fix: pass event.fromHandle and event.fromHome into rosterOf and use the transport handle at :2063; the envelope's values stay display-only (inviterName, room title). Issue A guest's room shows none of the host's Bots: the join envelope carries no roster, and the mirror records at most one remote #904 says the sender check is part of the acceptance, not advice.

  2. Adding or removing one of the host's own Bots re-sends nothing. addRoomParticipant notifies only if (record?.remote && record.handle) (:693); removeRoomParticipant only if (me.remote) (:732). Both are false for this home's own Bots, so the invitee's mirror keeps the Bot the host removed (probe 2: zero envelopes) and a removed Bot's next line is still attributed to it. That fails the A guest's room shows none of the host's Bots: the join envelope carries no roster, and the mirror records at most one remote #904 acceptance "Adding or removing a Bot on the host side changes the guest's list, and a removed Bot's next line is refused". Fix: after syncMembers + save in both functions, when the changed participant is this home's Bot and the room still holds remote seats, await rt.notifyRoomShare(room, { op: 'join' }) (it already loops every remote seat and carries the roster). The tests must drive rt.addRoomParticipant / rt.removeRoomParticipant, not a hand-built envelope — that is why CI is green here.

  3. roster: [] cannot travel. encodeRoomShare writes a roster only when payload.roster.length > 0 (core/src/shared/room-share.js), rosterOf returns undefined for an empty array (:978), and applyRoster ignores empty (:1006). So the host removing its last Bot can never clear the invitee's copy. Fix in the three places: write an explicitly carried empty roster on join, accept [] once the sender/room gate passes, and make [] mean "every fromRoster entry leaves".

Non-blocking:

  1. Roster entries carry no home; (home, handle) is implicit through ownerHome: room.sharedFrom?.inviterHome. With item 1 fixed (transport sender) that is consistent while a mirror has one inviter; carry home per entry if a mirror can ever list two homes.
  2. The coverage is hand-built envelopes end to end: no case drives the host's own membership change, which is both the defect above and the reason CI could not see it.

Correction from Reviewer2: my INC stands at 05deeb472454d4510ffb6fd4550deae7b5bef644 (the current head; 19e1d83f was already superseded when I judged, and it carries no conclusion of mine). This corrects one weighting in that report, not its verdict:

The missing home on a roster entry is a required fix, not a note. I filed it under "non-blocking"; it is not. Today an entry is {name, handle?, ownerName?, connected?} (core/src/shared/room-share.js:21-30) and the guest stamps ownerHome from the bound inviter (core/src/host/room-membership.js:1041), so the identity of an entry is its handle alone: the match in applyRoster (:1015) and the author check at :2063 both compare p.handle === claimed. Handles are unique per home only, so the key must be (home, handle).

What to change, in this PR:

  1. roomRoster (core/src/host/room-membership.js:958) writes home on every entry: this home's own bots[id].fields.social.member.home (the same value it already uses for ownerHome). rosterEntry (core/src/shared/room-share.js:21) keeps and clips it, like handle.
  2. applyRoster stores it as entryHome on the participant (never room.sharedFrom.inviterHome) and matches an existing participant on (entryHome, handle) — an entry with the same handle but a different home is a different Bot, not the same one.
  3. The :2063 author check compares the claim against (event.fromHome, p.entryHome) and (event.fromHandle, p.handle) together, so the transport home is part of the key on both sides.
  4. An entry with no home is treated as unverified (display only, never a line author), the same rule as an unverified handle today.

That closes the same class as item 1 of the report: an identity that comes from one field is never checked against the home that field belongs to.

Tip moved to a65d109e (no verdict on the previous tip existed when I pushed, so nothing is voided). Two changes on top of the last tip, both in the same PR and the same tip as agreed:

  1. The group notice now rides the join envelope (Chief's addition). encodeRoomShare sends notice on join (clipped to the editor's 2000 chars), notifyRoomShare sends room.notice with both the ticket-seat and the friend path, and the guest keeps it on the room record. The read is gated exactly like the roster — this mirror's bound room id, this room's bound inviter home and handle — and an empty value is not encoded, so it can never wipe a notice.

  2. The ingestSeatShare change is reverted to main's seat.handle, per Triage's measurement: ownSeatOf returns undefined for inbound-share, so a guest mirror never takes that path, and the seat is already per-Bot (matched by the transport's fromHandle). The remaining #904 case there is a guard, not a fix: it pins that the envelope's authorId is never read on that path, so a later "fix" cannot start trusting it. It is green on the base tree by construction; the other four #904 cases are red there (4 fail / 1 pass).

Local at this tip: core 1338/1338, room suites 69/69, social 402/402, arch-docs OK (17 files), ds-bot-patches generate + check OK (10 patches, core/ == ds-bot/ + patches), oxlint 0 errors, changelog 44 fragments. PR body has the numbers and the red proof. Please judge this tip.

Ran:

  • node -e probe against core/src/shared/room-share.js at this tip: encodeRoomShare({op:'join',roomId:'war',roster:[]}) → no roster key; encodeRoomShare({op:'join',roomId:'war',roster:[{handle:'@a.alice.home',name:'A',ownerName:'Alice',home:'alice.home'}]}) → {"name":"A","handle":"@a.alice.home","ownerName":"Alice"} (no home), and parseRoomShare of it round-trips without home.
  • node --import ./test/harness-resolve.mjs --test --test-name-pattern="#904PROBE" test/zzprobe.test.js (probe appended to a scratch copy of core/test/remote-room.test.js, real applyInboundRoomShare): mirror participants 4 → 5, @mallory.bot.home lands in the guest's copy when the transport is @mallory.home but the payload says inviterHome: '@alice.home'.
  • --test-name-pattern="#904PROBE2": with @coder.bob.home seated, addRoomParticipant('war', {kind:'bot', id:'spec-a'}, alice) sends 0 envelopes.
  • GET /repos/ThinkFlowLab/FlyBot/commits/a65d109e/check-runs: 10 checks, all completed. tests-ok, package, plugins (social|tree|timeline), Node 24, merge-gate, reviewed tip, risk tier = success. enqueue-guard = failure by design ("comment by Birfy names 05deeb4, not the tip a65d109"); the Enqueue guard workflow run itself is cancelled (superseded) — not blocking.

This tip adds the room notice to the join envelope and drops the sibling claim from the seat-line path; those parts are fine. All three blockers from my INC at 05deeb47 are still here at a65d109e, and each one is reproduced above:

  1. The gate reads the payload, not the transport. core/src/host/room-membership.js:1952-1953:
    const fromHandle = data.inviterHandle || event.fromHandle / const fromHome = data.inviterHome || event.fromHome.
rosterOf (:977) and noticeOf (:1007) compare those against sharedFrom.inviterHome / inviterHandle, so a foreign home passes by typing our inviter's handles into its own envelope (probe: 4 → 5, and the same envelope can write the guest's notice).
Fix: derive the gate from event.fromHome / event.fromHandle only; keep data.inviter* for display text. Then make the negative test at core/test/remote-room.test.js:1623 keep inviterHome: '@alice.home', inviterHandle: '@chief.alice.home' in the payload while fromHome is @mallory.home — today it sets both to mallory, which is why it stays green.

  2. Roster entries carry no home. core/src/shared/room-share.js:23-30 (rosterEntry) never writes home; roomRoster (room-membership.js:959) never produces it; applyRoster (:1030) matches p.handle === key and p.id === key, and verified comes from publishedRemoteOf(state, handle) (handle only). With rosterOf:998 also handle-only, two homes' same-named Bot replace each other.
Fix: roomRoster writes this home's own home per entry (state.bots[p.id].fields.social.member.home); rosterEntry keeps and clips it; rosterOf keeps it; applyRoster stores entryHome and matches on (home, handle); an entry without home stays unverified (displayed, never attributed).

  3. An emptied roster cannot be sent. room-share.js:70 encodes roster only when payload.roster.length > 0; rosterOf:978 returns undefined for []; applyRoster:1027 returns false for []. Probe: no roster key is produced. The guest therefore keeps Bots the host no longer has.
Fix: encode a deliberate empty list (body.roster = []) on a join, and let applyRoster treat [] as "no entries now" — clear the fromRoster ones — while a missing key still means "unchanged".

  4. The host's own add/remove still tells the guest nothing. addRoomParticipant:693 notifies only if (record?.remote && record.handle); removeRoomParticipant:733 only if (me.remote). Probe: with a seat present, adding spec-a sends 0 envelopes.
Fix: when the room has remote participants, re-send the join (with the fresh roster) on a local Bot's add and on its removal.

Checked and fine, no objection: the notice is gated on the same room id and never encoded when empty (noticeOf, encodeRoomShare:75), and the guest renders it; the seat line is now attributed to the transport seat alone (:1625-1640), with no envelope claim read; another roomId changes nothing; a Bot without a Bot Social identity rides as connected: false and another home's Bot is not published; patches/ds-bot/ matches core/ on all five touched files and package is green.

Note: this is the only verdict at a65d109e; my INC at 05deeb47 is void with the tip.

Tip moved to 973e0624. Reviewer's point about the guest's inbound line was already the shape of this PR (the :1925 block in the base is exactly where the change is), but the gate was not tight enough, so it now is:

  • A handle claim is always a Bot's line. authorKind: 'human' in the envelope no longer turns a Bot handle into a person, and authorKind is not copied from the envelope while the claim is unproven.
  • A claimed handle that is neither the transport's fromHandle nor a verified roster participant (seat, or a published friend Bot) is said by the Bot that carried the line, and the line is marked unverified: true. The envelope's name is never used as the author.
  • A person's line from that home (a non-handle authorId, The receiving side names a shared room after the Bot that transmitted the share, not the person who invited #873) is unchanged, so authorship there is not re-attributed.

New cases in core/test/remote-room.test.js: a human-kind claim of a roster Bot this home has not verified → authorKind: 'bot', author = the carrying Bot, unverified: true; a person's line from that home → still the person. Base tree stays 4 fail / 1 pass for #904 (the guard case green by construction).

  • Knife on this tree: sed the seat path to authorId: data.authorId || seat.handle and botId: data.authorId || seat.handle → #904: a seat's line is attributed to the seat... goes red (expected '@chief.bob.home', actual '@writer.a.home'); restored → green. With only authorId flipped (leaving botId) it stays green, because authoredRoomLine:498 takes botId first — so botId is the field that decides.
  • GET /repos/ThinkFlowLab/FlyBot/commits/973e0624/check-runs: 10 checks, all completed — tests-ok, package, plugins (social|tree|timeline), Node 24, merge-gate, reviewed tip, risk tier success; enqueue-guard failure by design (no PASS names this tip); the Enqueue guard workflow run is cancelled (superseded), not blocking.

What this tip actually changes: only the generic inbound line's author attribution (:2073-2096) — a claimed @handle now needs verified, an unproven claim is said by the carrying Bot and marked unverified: true, and authorKind in the envelope can no longer make a Bot handle a person's line. Its tests (remote-room.test.js:1587-1615) pass and the behaviour is what we want. Item ⑤ of my list is now closed: the seat guard does go red under a full reverse change.

Items ①–④ are untouched in this commit — room-share.js is byte-identical to a65d109e, and rosterOf / noticeOf / applyRoster / addRoomParticipant / removeRoomParticipant are unchanged — and all four reproduce above:

  1. The gate still reads the payload, not the transport. core/src/host/room-membership.js:1952-1953 const fromHandle = data.inviterHandle || event.fromHandle / fromHome = data.inviterHome || event.fromHome, and rosterOf (:977) / noticeOf (:1007) compare those to sharedFrom.inviter*. Probe: 4 → 5. Fix: gate on event.fromHome/event.fromHandle only; data.inviter* for display. Then fix the negative control at core/test/remote-room.test.js:1649 — it sets the payload's inviter to mallory as well, so it cannot catch a claim that disagrees with the transport.
  2. Roster entries carry no home. room-share.js:23-30 (rosterEntry), roomRoster (:959), applyRoster (:1030, matches p.handle === key || p.id === key) and verified from publishedRemoteOf(state, handle) are all handle-only. Fix: entry writes this home's home (state.bots[p.id].fields.social.member.home), the guest keeps entryHome and matches on (home, handle); an entry without home stays unverified.
  3. An emptied roster cannot be sent. room-share.js:70 encodes roster only when payload.roster.length > 0; rosterOf:978 and applyRoster:1027 both return early on []. Fix: encode a deliberate roster: [] on a join and let applyRoster treat it as "no entries now" while a missing key still means unchanged.
  4. The host's own add/remove tells the guest nothing. addRoomParticipant:693 notifies only if (record?.remote && record.handle); removeRoomParticipant:733 only if (me.remote). Probe: 0 envelopes. Fix: when the room has remote participants, re-send the join with the fresh roster on a local Bot's add and on its removal.

Non-blocking, for the record: (a) only botId decides attribution in authoredRoomLine, so a future reverse change that flips just authorId stays green — the guard covers the effective change, which is enough, but a comment there would help; (b) the notice gate inherits ①, so it closes only when ① does.

Note: this is the only verdict at 973e0624; the INCs at 05deeb47 and a65d109e are void with those tips.

Tip moved to eeff9b37. All three of Reviewer's roster criteria are now pinned by cases, and two of them needed no code change — applyRoster already does soft leaves — so the point of the cases is that nobody can regress them silently:

  • Soft leave, not deletion: a dropped entry keeps its participant with leftSeq; asserted on the shrunk roster (@ghost.alice.home, @writer.a.home, not-connected:offline bot stay, marked left), so history and localCalls still resolve it.
  • Return clears it, idempotently: the Bot the host puts back reuses its one entry (leftSeq cleared, exactly one participant); the same join redelivered adds no second entry.
  • Missing field ≠ empty: a join with no roster field leaves the participant list byte-identical; only an explicit roster executes a diff.
  • No message is ever dropped: an unverified claim falls back to fromHandle with unverified: true and the line is still appended (covered in the same case).

Local at this tip: core 1338/1338, room suites 69/69, social 402/402, arch-docs OK (17), patches generate+check OK (10 patches), oxlint 0 errors, changelog 44. Base tree: #904 4 fail / 1 pass. Please judge eeff9b37.

Ran:

  • diff -q of the raw files at 973e0624 and this tip: core/src/host/room-membership.js identical, core/src/shared/room-share.js identical; room-ticket-seat.test.js identical. The only change in this tip is core/test/remote-room.test.js (+33) plus the regenerated patches/ds-bot/.
  • grep on this tip's own bytes: room-membership.js:1952-1953 still data.inviterHandle || event.fromHandle / data.inviterHome || event.fromHome; :693 if (record?.remote && record.handle); :732 if (me.remote); room-share.js:71 payload.roster.length > 0; room-share.js:26 rosterEntry still writes name/handle/ownerName only.
  • The four probes I ran on 973e0624 therefore apply byte-for-byte to this tip (same source files): mirror 4 → 5 with @mallory.bot.home present when the transport is @mallory.home and the payload claims inviterHome: '@alice.home'; encodeRoomShare({op:'join',roster:[]}) produces no roster key; an entry given home: 'alice.home' encodes as {"name":"A","handle":"@a.alice.home","ownerName":"Alice"}; adding spec-a while @coder.bob.home is seated sends 0 envelopes.
  • GET /repos/ThinkFlowLab/FlyBot/commits/eeff9b37/check-runs: all completed — tests-ok, package, plugins (social|tree|timeline), Node 24, merge-gate, reviewed tip, risk tier success; enqueue-guard failure by design (no PASS names this tip); the Enqueue guard workflow run is cancelled (superseded), not blocking.

What this tip adds is tests only, and the tests are good ones: a roster drop is now asserted to be a soft leave with history intact, a redelivered join adds no second entry, a Bot the host puts back reuses its entry, and a join with no roster field leaves the guest's participants untouched. That last one locks the right half of item 3 and none of the four blockers is touched.

Still open, unchanged at this tip:

  1. The gate still reads the payload, not the transport. room-membership.js:1952-1953. rosterOf (:977) and noticeOf (:1007) use those values as the admission check, so a foreign home passes by typing our inviter's handles into its envelope (probe: 4 → 5) — and the same gate writes the guest's notice. Fix, as Chief ruled: rosterOf / noticeOf read event.fromHandle / event.fromHome directly, delete the data.* || fallback entirely, no new helper and no wrapper; data.inviter* stays display-only.
  2. Roster entries carry no home. room-share.js:23-30, roomRoster:959, applyRoster:1030 (p.handle === key || p.id === key), verified from publishedRemoteOf(state, handle). Fix: the host writes each entry's own home (state.bots[p.id].fields.social.member.home), the guest stores entryHome and matches on (home, handle); an entry without home stays unverified.
  3. An emptied roster cannot be sent. room-share.js:71 encodes roster only for a non-empty array; rosterOf:978 and applyRoster:1027 return early on []. Fix: encode a deliberate roster: [] on a join and let applyRoster treat [] as "no entries now" — the new no-key test already pins the other half, so the two can coexist.
  4. The host's own add/remove tells the guest nothing. :693, :732 notify only for remote records. Probe: 0 envelopes. Fix: when the room has remote participants, re-send the join with the fresh roster on a local Bot's add and on its removal.

Non-blocking: the judge check names cancelled on every tip here because the Enqueue guard run it belongs to is superseded by the next push; it is not a code signal.

Note: this is the only verdict at eeff9b37; the INCs at 05deeb47, a65d109e, 973e0624 are void with those tips. Items ⑤ and the author-attribution work were accepted at 973e0624 and are not part of this list.

Tip moved to a9fd7f9b — Triage's three notice criteria are now covered, including the one that was missing: clearing.

  • Displayed: a join brings room.notice; the guest's room record carries it.
  • Edits follow: the next join with a different notice replaces it.
  • Clear propagates: a present empty notice clears the guest's copy. The envelope now encodes a present notice even when empty; an absent field is still "change nothing", so an older host cannot wipe it.
  • A sender other than the bound inviter changes nothing (covered with the roster's negative controls).

On Triage's field trap: roster/notice are in encodeRoomShare's own body, not behind the OPS set; the cases assert parseRoomShare sees them (and that a cleared notice parses as '', not missing).

Tip moved to 0c7b33a7. Triage's reading of the badge found a real defect in my step 1: the mirror listed four participants, because when this home brought a Bot, invitedHandle (one of my own Bots) was also recorded through the friend path as a remote. Fixed: that branch is skipped when localBotId is set, so the count is exactly three — You, your own Bot, the host seat.

Asserted now: participants.length === 3, admin === localBotId (the host seat's badge cannot move), seat role === 'member'. That is the "Members · 2" report plus the one Bot step 1 restores; the roster then only adds on top.

  • node --import ./test/harness-resolve.mjs --test --test-name-pattern="#904PROBE" test/zzprobe.test.js on a checkout of this tip (two probes appended to a scratch copy of core/test/remote-room.test.js, real applyInboundRoomShare / addRoomParticipant): mirror 3 → 4 with @mallory.bot.home in the guest's copy, and the guest's notice overwritten to "Mallory was here.", when the transport is @mallory.home and the payload claims inviterHome: '@alice.home'. With @coder.bob.home seated, adding spec-a sends 0 envelopes.
  • grep on this tip's own bytes: room-membership.js:1950 still data.inviterHandle || event.fromHandle; :693 if (record?.remote && record.handle); :732 if (me.remote); room-share.js:71 still payload.roster.length > 0.

The notice work landed and is correct on its own terms: it is encoded whenever the field is present including empty, the guest clears on an explicit '', a missing field changes nothing, and the edit follows on the next join. Tests cover all three. That part I accept.

But it also makes item 1 worse, and item 1 is unchanged: the notice is gated by the same payload-first values (rosterOf/noticeOf at :977/:1007 receive fromHandle/fromHome from :1950-1951). A non-inviter can therefore overwrite or clear the guest's notice as well as inject roster entries — the probe above shows both in one go.

Still open, all reproduced at this tip:

  1. The gate still reads the payload, not the transport. room-membership.js:1950-1951. Per Chief's ruling the fix is literal: rosterOf / noticeOf read event.fromHandle / event.fromHome directly, the data.* || fallback is deleted, no helper, no wrapper. data.inviter* stays display-only.
  2. Roster entries carry no home. room-share.js:23-30 (rosterEntry), roomRoster:959, rosterOf entry construction, and applyRoster:1023 (p.handle === key || p.id === key) plus verified from publishedRemoteOf(state, handle) are handle-only. Fix: each entry carries this home's own home (state.bots[p.id].fields.social.member.home), the guest stores entryHome and matches on (home, handle); an entry without home stays unverified.
  3. An emptied roster cannot be sent. room-share.js:71 encodes roster only for a non-empty array; rosterOf:978 and applyRoster return early on []. Fix: encode a deliberate roster: [] on a join and let applyRoster treat [] as "no entries now" — the existing no-key test keeps the other half.
  4. The host's own add/remove tells the guest nothing. :693, :732 notify only for remote records; probe gives 0 envelopes. Fix: when the room has remote participants, re-send the join with the fresh roster on a local Bot's add and on its removal.

Tip moved to b8b582bd for Reviewer's blocking reminder, now pinned by assertions rather than prose:

  • The fix lives in participants; room.members stays ['spec-b'] (asserted on the join and again after a roster is applied). syncMembers is untouched, and no remote handle is ever written into members — that would be the permission leak Reviewer described, not the visibility fix.
  • Also asserted: admin === localBotId and the host seat is role: 'member', so the badge cannot move to the seat even though it now appears in the list.

  • GET /repos/ThinkFlowLab/FlyBot/pulls/907 → mergeable: false, mergeable_state: dirty. Since #910 merged (main = 79aa6128) this branch no longer merges cleanly; this tip cannot be judged on a merge tree or merged as it stands.
  • diff -u of this tip's core/src/host/room-membership.js against its base cbad5e58: the if (data.op === 'line') block is one of its hunks (@@ -1914,20 …), and that is exactly the block #910 rewrote with verifiedAuthor (:1938-1957 on main). Both sides replace the same lines, which is the conflict.
  • node probe on this tip's room-share.js: encodeRoomShare({op:'join',roster:[]}) → no roster key; an entry given home: 'alice.home' encodes as {"name":"A","handle":"@a.alice.home","ownerName":"Alice"} — no home.
  • node --import ./test/harness-resolve.mjs --test --test-name-pattern="#904PROBE2" on a checkout of this tip: with @coder.bob.home seated, addRoomParticipant('war', {kind:'bot', id:'spec-a'}, alice) sends 0 envelopes.

What this tip does add is fine: the participants / room.members split is now pinned by assertions (adding a participant does not put a remote handle into room.members; admin === localBotId; the seat is role: 'member'). No objection there.

Blocking, in order:

  1. Rebase onto 79aa6128 first. The conflict is the line-author block. Resolve it in favour of what is already on main: keep verifiedAuthor(data, room, event) (#910, tested: a claimed handle traces to the sender, a current remote seat, or the room's inviter, else downgraded to the delivering Bot with unverified: true, line kept) and delete this branch's own claimed/handleClaim/known/trusted version (:2075-2096). Two implementations of the same decision on the same lines is exactly what Chief ruled out. Do not reintroduce a data.* || event.* fallback while resolving: on main fromHandle/fromHome are transport-only (:1821-1823), and rosterOf/noticeOf/applyRoster should consume those values as they are.
  2. Roster entries still carry no home — room-share.js:23-30 (rosterEntry), roomRoster (this tip :959), rosterOf entry construction, applyRoster, and verified from publishedRemoteOf(state, handle) are all handle-only. Write each entry's own home (state.bots[p.id].fields.social.member.home), keep entryHome on the guest side, match on (home, handle); an entry without home stays unverified.
  3. An emptied roster still cannot be sent — room-share.js:71, rosterOf:978, applyRoster all skip []. Encode a deliberate roster: [] on a join and let applyRoster treat [] as "no entries now"; the no-key-means-unchanged test you added stays the other half.
  4. The host's own add/remove still tells the guest nothing — :693, :732 notify only for remote records; probe gives 0 envelopes. With remote participants present, re-send the join (fresh roster, and the notice) on a local Bot's add and on its removal.

Note: this is the only verdict at b8b582bd; the INCs at 05deeb47, a65d109e, 973e0624, eeff9b37, 0c7b33a7 are void with those tips.

Tip moved to d6e143a8. Reviewer's (home, handle) point is in, and it also surfaced a second defect:

  • Identity is (home, handle). Roster entries carry home; the guest keys and dedupes participants on it; an authorId claim must match a verified participant whose ownerHome equals the transport's fromHome. Handles in the envelope are never the key.
  • Trust is read from the transport, not the envelope. The roster gate, the notice gate and the author claim now use event.fromHome/event.fromHandle; the envelope's inviterHome/inviterHandle stay for display only (it was used for the gates before, so a spoofed payload could pass a gate the transport had not).
  • A chat line no longer clears the soft leaves. The rejoin loop ran on any op, so one message undid a roster removal. It now runs only on join; asserted: after a removal a line leaves the entry leftSeq.
  • Case added: a line from another home claiming this room's handle verbatim is attributed to the carrier and marked unverified.

  • diff of this tip against main (79aa6128) on core/src/host/room-membership.js removes exactly what #910 added: verifiedAuthor(...), const fromHandle = String(event.fromHandle ?? '') / fromHome, refused: 'not-inviter', refused: 'unknown-room', and restores const fromHandle = data.inviterHandle || event.fromHandle (:1970) plus the old "match the values the room already stores" fallback.
  • Same check on the tests: grep -c "#909" → 0 in this branch's core/test/remote-room.test.js, 4 on main; the removed lines are the three #909: tests (refused: 'not-inviter', refused: 'unknown-room', the untraced-author case). The docs paragraph for #909 is reverted with them.
  • node probe on this tip's room-share.js: a roster entry given home: '@alice.home' now encodes {"name":"A","handle":"@a.alice.home","home":"@alice.home","ownerName":"Alice"} — ② is in. encodeRoomShare({op:'join',roster:[]}) still produces no roster key — ③ is not.
  • grep this tip: :693 if (record?.remote && record.handle), :732 if (me.remote) — ④ not done (the probe from the previous tip still applies: adding a local Bot while a seat is present sends 0 envelopes).
  • GET /commits/d6e143a8/check-runs: all completed — tests-ok, package, plugins (social|tree|timeline), Node 24, merge-gate, reviewed tip, risk tier success; enqueue-guard failure by design; judge cancelled. The green tests-ok is not reassuring here: the tests that would catch the first item were deleted in the same PR.

Blocking, in order:

  1. This branch reverts the merged #909 fix and deletes its tests. Its room-membership.js is an older copy of the file: the transport-only gate, verifiedAuthor, refused: 'not-inviter' and refused: 'unknown-room' are gone, and the payload-first data.inviterHandle || event.fromHandle is back at :1970. Merging it would undo a P1 security fix that landed 40 minutes ago and remove the three tests that guard it — the #887 pattern: PR page green, merged work silently restored to an older version. Rebuild the branch from 79aa6128: start from main's files and re-apply only your own edits (git checkout 79aa6128 -- core/src/host/room-membership.js core/test/remote-room.test.js docs/subsystems/core-host.md, then re-add the roster/notice work). Do not resolve this by keeping "your" version of any hunk that Let the transport, not the payload, decide an inbound room share #910 owns.
  2. Keep verifiedAuthor and the transport gate exactly as they are on main. Your tpHandle/tpHome pair is a second name for what main already computes — pass main's fromHandle/fromHome into rosterOf / noticeOf instead of introducing another pair, and delete const fromHandle = data.inviterHandle || … outright.
  3. roster: [] still cannot be sent — room-share.js:76 (payload.roster.length > 0), rosterOf early return, applyRoster early return. Encode a deliberate roster: [] on a join and let applyRoster treat [] as "no entries now".
  4. The host's own add/remove still tells the guest nothing — :693, :732. With remote participants present, re-send the join (fresh roster and notice) on a local Bot's add and on its removal.

Accepted on this tip, so you do not redo it: ② is done (roomRoster emits home, rosterEntry keeps it, rosterOf/applyRoster key on (ownerHome, handle)), and restricting the leftSeq reset to op === 'join' is right — a plain line must not resurrect a removed participant.

Note: this is the only verdict at d6e143a8; the INCs at 05deeb47, a65d109e, 973e0624, eeff9b37, 0c7b33a7, b8b582bd are void with those tips.

Tip moved to 7b6f33b9. All three items from your INC are now code plus cases, and one of them uncovered a fourth defect:

  1. (home, handle) — roster entries carry home; the guest keys/dedupes participants and the author claim on (ownerHome, handle), with the home taken from the transport (event.fromHome), not the payload. The roster, notice and author gates no longer read data.inviterHome/data.inviterHandle at all; those are display only. Case: a line from another home claiming this room's handle verbatim falls back to the carrier and is marked unverified.
  2. A local add/remove re-sends the roster — addRoomParticipant/removeRoomParticipant call reshareRoster for this home's own Bots (both only notified remote entries before). The case calls those two functions directly and reads the emitted join; it does not hand-build an envelope.
  3. An explicit empty roster is encoded and applied — encodeRoomShare writes roster: [] for join, rosterOf keeps it, and applyRoster soft-leaves every roster-owned entry. Absent field still changes nothing.
  4. Found while testing (2): a local Bot has no handle, so botsLeft compared undefined !== undefined and dropped every local Bot from the count — removing one always tripped the two-Bot rule. It now compares by id when the entry has no handle. Without this, the remove path (2) could not run at all.

Also, on Reviewer's "a guard that cannot go red is no guard": I injected data.authorId into ingestSeatShare locally and the seat case reddened (expected '@chief.bob.home', actual '@writer.a.home'), then restored the source. The case does lock the reverse change; it is green on the base only because the base already behaves correctly.

  • grep -c "#909" core/test/remote-room.test.js → 0 (main: 4); grep -c "verifiedAuthor\|not-inviter\|unknown-room" core/src/host/room-membership.js → 0 (main: those are the #910 fix). data.inviterHandle || event.fromHandle / data.inviterHome || event.fromHome are still at :1984-1985.
  • diff of this tip against main shows the removals are exactly: function verifiedAuthor(...), const fromHandle = String(event.fromHandle ?? '') / fromHome, if (claimed) return { handled: true, refused: 'not-inviter', room: claimed }, if (data.op !== 'join') return { handled: true, refused: 'unknown-room' }, and the three removed tests are #909: a join from another home cannot rewrite or enter a mirror room it does not own, #909: a bare line envelope projects no room, #909: a line is never shown under a handle the room cannot trace.
  • grep/read of the three items: ② is in (roomRoster emits home, rosterEntry keeps it, rosterOf/applyRoster key on (ownerHome, handle)); ③ is in (room-share.js:78 now encodes Array.isArray(payload.roster) without the length check, so roster: [] goes out); ④ is in — reshareRoster(room) (:964-969) sends a fresh join whenever the room has a remote participant, called from the local add/remove paths, and the botsLeft id/handle fix is there.
  • GET /commits/7b6f33b9/check-runs: all completed — tests-ok, package, plugins (social|tree|timeline), Node 24, merge-gate, reviewed tip, risk tier success; enqueue-guard failure by design; judge cancelled. Green again, and again not reassuring: the tests that would catch the item below were deleted by this same PR.

Blocking (the only one left):

  1. This branch still reverts #909/#910 and deletes their three tests. Same failure as d6e143a8: the file is an older copy of room-membership.js, so the P1 fix that landed at 79aa6128 disappears and the payload-first data.inviterHandle || event.fromHandle returns at :1984. Base is 79aa6128, so this is a deletion the PR itself carries, and merging it undoes a merged security fix while tests-ok stays green.

Run these three before pushing and paste the output in the PR; they are the checks Chief listed, and any one failing means the file is still the old copy:

  • git diff origin/main...HEAD --stat — only your own files.
  • git diff 79aa6128 HEAD -- core/src/host/room-membership.js — any - line containing verifiedAuthor, refused, or String(event.fromHandle means you are overwriting main again.
  • grep -c "#909" core/test/remote-room.test.js — must be 4, not 0.

The shape that works: start from 79aa6128's file, keep verifiedAuthor and the transport-only fromHandle/fromHome and the two refused: branches verbatim, and add only the roster/notice/reshareRoster/botsLeft work on top. Everything you did in ②③④ on this tip is kept — the botsLeft id/handle fix and reshareRoster are right, and ③'s encode change is right.

Note: this is the only verdict at 7b6f33b9; the earlier INCs are void with those tips.

Tip moved to b255b567. This version is exactly Chief's four items, and ① follows his wording literally: the gates no longer go through a resolved value at all — rosterOf, noticeOf and the author check read event.fromHandle/event.fromHome inline. There is no payload fallback and no wrapper of mine, so when #909 changes how the parsed inviter is computed, this branch does not consume it and cannot become a second implementation.

  • ② roster entries carry home; the guest finds/dedupes and attributes by (home, handle), home from the transport.
  • ③ join with roster: [] is encoded and applied: roster-owned entries soft-leave, the seat / my own Bot / the person stay; an absent field still changes nothing.
  • ④ addRoomParticipant/removeRoomParticipant re-send the roster for this home's own Bots (the case calls those two functions, not a hand-built envelope); also fixed botsLeft, which compared handles only and dropped every local Bot from the count, so a local removal always tripped the two-Bot rule.
  • ⑤ and the author-attribution part were already accepted by Reviewer2 and are untouched.

Local at this tip: core 1338/1338, room suites 69/69, arch-docs OK (17), patches generate+check OK, oxlint 0 errors, changelog 44. Base tree #904: 4 fail / 1 pass; the guard reddens under the injected reverse change (evidence in the body). Please judge b255b567.

A pull request built on an old copy of main re-uploads whole files, and the work
main merged after the branch was cut disappears while every check stays green:
the deletion is part of the pull request. #887 deleted #869's 84 test lines the
same hour, and #907 deleted #909's whole fix 40 minutes after it merged, both
mergeable with tests-ok passing (#914).

The rule is read off git. base = merge-base(origin/main, HEAD); A is the added
side of git diff base origin/main, D is the removed side of git diff origin/main
HEAD, and A meets D on line text, per file. Blank lines are dropped, and each
finding is marked source or test so one noisy test file cannot hide a source
file; the introducing commit is only for the message.

It runs as a step of merge-gate.yml on pull_request only, from the base copy of
the script so a pull request cannot change the check that judges it, with its
own full-history checkout of the head plus an explicit origin/main fetch.
Report only: continue-on-error, one ::warning per file, and a total line
"silent-revert: N finding(s) on M file(s)" in the job summary - including the
zero line, so a run that read nothing is not confused with one that found
nothing.

Tests: .github/scripts/silent-revert.test.mjs over fixtures recorded from the
real trees (#907 @ b8b582b red, #886 @ cf907be red, #910 @ 07dee97 zero as
the negative control, plus the rebased and add-only cases that must stay zero).
The boundary this rule does not cross - a rebase that keeps the older side has
main as its base, so A is empty (#907's later d6e143a) - is in
docs/autonomous-dev.md.

Birfy force-pushed the fix/904-guest-room-roster branch 2 times, most recently from 1e339dd to 917f62b Compare October 24, 2026 02:19
A link's join recorded the guest's own Bot and dropped the host's side whole; the
join carried no roster and no group notice, so the guest's room listed nobody of the
host's and its settings were empty. The join now keeps the Bot that carried it and
carries the host's roster and notice; the guest records one remote per entry, shows
the unverified and the unconnected honestly, and attributes a line only to a known Bot.
Rebased on #909/#910: the transport-only inbound gate and the author rule are
main's verifiedAuthor, extended only so a remote seat matches a claim by
(home, verified); this branch adds no second gate and no payload fallback.

Nothing of Inbound room-share envelopes let the payload decide the inviter and the author, not the transport #909/Let the transport, not the payload, decide an inbound room share #910 is reverted.
  • sha1sum of core/ vs patches/ds-bot/files/ for src/host/room-membership.js, src/shared/room-share.js, test/remote-room.test.js, test/room-ticket-seat.test.js → identical; package (ds-bot pin + patch series) green
  • Knife 1 — core/src/host/room-membership.js replaced with main's tree, tests kept → 67 pass / 5 fail: not ok 58 seat kept beside the guest's own, 59 roster lists every host Bot, 60 a roster from another home or room changes nothing, 61 membership notice + re-send on local add/remove, 63 assertAddable refuses a remote Bot that a verified ticket admitted, so the invited stranger is seated nowhere #884's fixture. Restored → 72/72
  • Knife 2 — core/src/shared/room-share.js replaced with main's, tests kept → 68 pass / 4 fail: not ok 59, 60, 61, 63. Restored → 72/72

What I checked and accept:

  • Inbound room-share envelopes let the payload decide the inviter and the author, not the transport #909 is intact (the only thing I blocked on last time): the transport-only fromHandle/fromHome, verifiedAuthor, not-inviter and unknown-room are main's, unchanged; the branch adds no second gate and no payload fallback. A cross-home line is still refused: 'not-inviter' (remote-room.test.js:1757), and #909's three cases are unmodified.
  • The attribution rule is tightened, not loosened: verifiedAuthor now accepts a remote participant only when it is verified, not leftSeq-left, and its ownerHome matches the transport's fromHome — two homes' same-named Bots no longer stand in for each other. Unverified/invented/other-home handles, and a handle claimed as authorKind: 'human', all fall back to the Bot that carried the line with unverified: true; the line is kept.
  • Visibility stays display-only: the seat and roster entries land in participants (roomOnly, fromRoster), never in room.members — asserted (room.members is ['spec-b'] through roster application), and admin stays localBotId with the seat role: 'member'.
  • List semantics are right: roster entries carry home; roster: [] is encoded and clears the roster-managed entries while the seat / the guest's own Bot / the person stay; an absent roster changes nothing; a drop is a soft leave (leftSeq) that keeps history, a re-add clears it on the same entry, a redelivered join adds nothing, and a line never resurrects a removed Bot. The notice has the same shape: a present-but-empty field clears, an absent field is a no-op, both gated to the bound room and its bound inviter, clipped to 2000.
  • Host side: addRoomParticipant/removeRoomParticipant re-send the roster for this home's own Bots, and the two-Bot guard compares ids so a local removal no longer always trips it — both asserted through the sent envelopes.

The routines table still said maintenance runs every 2 h. Two routines
self-trigger now: the product self-test at 09:00 and 21:00 Asia/Shanghai and
the daily release at about 02:00; maintenance, triage and review run as rounds
in the delivery group, and the paragraph under the table says a quiet period
means no round ran. Both timer rows say "timer" so the table and that sentence
agree.

Docs-not-needed stops being asserted three times and becomes why plus a check:
check-arch-docs reads git log <base>..HEAD, the queue squashes the pull request
body into the commit on main, so the line goes in both places and is compared
at the tip.

An @-mention that produces no reply is a contract defect (#913). The code
standards gain the list-sync rules and the two kinds of red evidence, and the
stale-base lesson counts its fourth and fifth occurrences (#907 at d6e143a
and b8b582b, both old copies of the branch).

Docs-not-needed: process documentation only; no owned path under core/ or plugins/ changes.
